Welcome to Slow Rise Sourdough, a family-run micro-bakery based in Orlando, Florida, born from a dream, a passion for sourdough, and the chaos and beauty of life with toddlers.
Our founder, Kaley McNeil, began her sourdough journey in the quiet hours between caring for a baby and a toddler, seeking a way to create something nourishing for her family. What started as a personal challenge quickly became a household favorite—loved by her kids, adored by Uncle Kiki, and obsessed over by Aunt Jade.
Everything changed with one small act of kindness: a delivery of freshly baked bagels to lift a friend’s spirits turned into a flood of orders and an unexpected business. From that moment, Slow Rise Sourdough was born.
We use organic, non-enriched flour, a naturally fermented starter, and a slow-rise method to create bagels that are wholesome, flavorful, and unlike anything you’ll find in a grocery store.
Each bagel is shaped and baked with love, right from our home kitchen, where we’ve upgraded to a new mixer and carved out a cozy baking space—thanks to Kaley’s hardworking husband, an award-winning professional chef.
Now, our dream is growing: to bring him home from his 14-hour shifts and work side-by-side in our own kitchen, serving even more people in our community. To do that, we’re raising funds for a commercial bread oven and a prep table—so we can rise together, as a family and as a bakery.
